First bath Aug 31, 2010
Wow, I can't believe its been 8 months since I posted on the blog! So much has happened...Madison turned 5 years old!~We celebrated with taking her to Disneyland...Great fun day! For her birthday party we ended up at Chuck E. Cheese with family seems how none of the kids she invited showed mad! But the important people were there...FAMILY!!!! And she had a great time which is all that really matters!

In June, Madison graduated from pre-school! Went to Disneyland a lot!

July 4th was spent at the in-laws for pool time and fireworks.

August 30th Madison started Kindergarten such a big girl and she loves her teacher and she's the teachers favorite :)

Aug 31st Roger III made his grand entrance into the world at 5:48pm 7lbs 15oz and 19 inches hair lol. After being induced I was glad he was finally here. He latched on to nurse as if he were a pro! Madison wasn't mad anymore now that he was here....she was upset because he wasn't a girl...but is happy that he won't be stealing her toys any time soon. As soon as they let her in the room, she ran to the side of the bed and said "I've got the cutest baby brother", brought tears to my eyes...she gave him a kiss and was thrilled that the wait was finally over! My mom almost missed the birth of her 3rd grand baby, i forgot what she was doing or where she was at, but when I started pushing she flew into the door...hahaha! My dad came in from Las Vegas and made it there with time to spare.

I have to say thank you to Katie for keeping my sanity straight for the last week of my pregnancy! Lots of texting back and forth and lots of support! Don't know who was more excited Katie or myself LOL!

September~Labor day weekend, I didn't do anything, my sister in law came over and picked up Madison so that she could be with family and go swimming...she needed some grandma time! From what I understand she had a great time with Uncle Mike in the pool!

October..Madison still loves school and is excited for her 1st field trip...I am really nervous for that!!! Grandma Sue went with her to the pumpkin patch (nerves are settled). For Halloween, Madison was Alice in Wonderland, and Baby Roger was a skeleton...only being 2 months old he didn't need a costume! 2 month check up and the baby weighs 15 lbs!~

November...We are all sick! Baby too, upper respiratory infections, sinus infection for me and bronchitis for big Roger...Baby's first always we went to Roger's moms house! Got all the Christmas shopping done for the kids in one day...ON LINE AND IN MY PJ's....only way to do it from now on! Finding a parking spot was hassle free :), time has gone by! Lots of drama~there always is!...Let's see, JC Penny didn't ship me out a new camera after finding out that it was damaged in transit, my step dad's tumors haven't shrunk after 3 months of chemo...he will be on chemo for the rest of his life, doctor's have given him 3 years to live...Roger is trying to find the money to get his commercial permit, physical and TSA Background check, but people haven't paid us back that "PROMISED TO". So tired of all the lies and telling us what we want to hear, when they don't have any means of paying us back! No more lending out money! Time to stand on your own 2 feet!

The Baby turned 4 months old on the 31st...and we were all in bed by 9:30p...bunch of old farts we are!

Wonder how 2011 is going to be better than 2010???? Guess we will just have to wait and see....

Finding a new OB/GYN

Time to find a new OB/GYN! There's just something that I don't like about my baby's doctor, oh wait, it's because I called to find out the measurements from last weeks appointment and he told me to ask during the visit not after. Wait a second, so does that mean if I have a question, I have to wait 4 weeks until my next apt to ask and get answers. I don't think so. Even Roger told me, there's something I don't like about your doctor!!! I called around and found a doctor, and funny thing, he is in the same building as the one I see now, but he delivers at St. Jude!!!!! The doctor I have now only delivers at St. Joseph's which is about 25 mins from me and Anaheim Regional which is about the same....St. Jude is where I had both my kids, we go there for anything and everything, we trust that place have never had any problems, and it's only about 7-10 mins away depending on what time we are going there.

I am meeting the new OBGYN today...will let you know how it goes!

Yesterday Roger had to go to work and didn't get home 'til 2:30p. Madison and I cleaned the living room and she dusted while I vacuumed! I love the fact that she wants to help me out, makes my life a whole lot easier. She even helps wash the dishes, like plastic cups and silverware! :)

After showers and figuring out what we were going to have for dinner, Madison said she wanted to eat at Red Robin! Yummy! Glad she likes that place so much! After having dinner we decided to go to Babies R Us and register. When we got there Roger picked up a book of names...OMG! the names he was asking me turned my face green, like Agnus, Crispen, Axel and thanks! I'd like an unique name, but not Agnus. We aren't ruling out the baby taking on the family name, he'd be Roger Raymond Shafer III, but I'd like to think that we are more creative then that to settle on something so easy!

When we were done scanning items, we took off for the clothing section of the store, Roger found 2 little outfits...OMG, so cute, and he asked Madison which ones she liked. We are trying our hardest for her to be every part of our choices. She picked out the crib decor, it's Jungle Babies. Really cute and the colors are perfect for the crib and our bedroom furniture. Yes the baby will be in our room til he's probably about a year old. Madison will be going to school, and she needs all the sleep she can get.

I can't wait to have my 2 best friends help me create a wonderful baby shower!

IT'S A BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wednesday, April 14, 2010

One more day!

Here it is Wednesday and I am so anxious to find out what we are having...will it be a boy or a girl?? My mom, mother in law, my sister in laws Katie and Beky, and a really good friend of mine all seem to think that am going to have a boy! I keep having dreams about us having a boy, and maybe it's because of everyone telling me I am....although, when I was pregnant with Madison I had dreams that I was having a girl and that came out true.

Madison won't be going to school tomorrow. She really wants to be there when we find out. I gave her the option. Roger got the day off, so maybe afterwards we can spend some time at Madison's favorite place~Disneyland!

I have been feeling tired a lot lately and not being able to motivate myself to doing anything. It really sucks...I need at least some energy to clean a room a day and start getting this place baby ready. It's funny...I gave away everything...the crib is on loan, the swing, I threw away the high chair (and really there's no room for it), all my maternity clothes either went to goodwill or to a friend of mine. We never thought or talked about having another baby. Then on New Year's Day, the test showed "YES"...I was floored.

I will post when I find out what the sex of our baby is, until then you all have to wait just like my family and I do!

A little about my family

My husband, Roger, and I met while he was at work 12 years ago and have been together ever since. I have a son, Nate, who is from a previous marriage, he's 15 years old and a Sophomore in high school. Then there's Madison who is soon to be turning 5 years old and in the fall will be going to Kindergarten~man time sure does fly fast when you have kids!

I am just about 5 months prego and am finally looking like I am prego and not fat. We find out on Thursday April 15th if we are having a boy or a girl. Naturally, Roger is hoping for a boy, but I don't care as long as I deliver a healthy baby with 10 fingers, 10 toes and a cute little button nose. I'm due Sept 3, 2010~Labor Day weekend...hahaha perfect name for when I am due...
